IN A NUTSHELL
Originally from down south , I am now based in West Lothian, Scotland.
I'm a self taught photographer, but decided to further my knowledge and build on the skills I already had by studying Photography and Imaging at the City Of Glasgow College. I photograph with my treasured Canon 5D Mk III and various zoom and prime lenses.
My brain gets much more exercise than my body but I aim to address this………...soon! I am a self-confessed reality TV junkie and a lover of all music genres. Not totally gadget daft, but love all things manufactured by Apple.
My lifestyle sessions are modern and break the chains of traditional photography. No artificial plain backdrops, or intrusive studio lamps, just natural light at interesting locations. I use this style to capture true and authentic personalities at a favourite destination. I'm inspired by light, shapes and textures.
I love using natural light because of its beautiful, soft flattering quality. I work with these qualities to capture emotive images of real family connections. No forced smiles, just expressive, natural, beautiful images.
I have a very easy-going personality and my photo shoots are a fun experience. Sometimes there are games of peek-a-boo or ice-creams on the beach. I love to shoot on location in places that hold a special meaning to your family. This can be at your home or a favourite country park, the places you are most fond of are the most natural settings for your session.
To capture the most natural photographs, I allow the children to control the flow of the session. Being a Father, I understand how important it is to be patient and calm. On occasion, I may give some gentle direction to make sure everyone is in the best light and position to ensure beautiful photographs you will want to show off time and time again.
Photographing families is my absolute passion. There is nothing more flattering than families getting in contact again to arrange another photo shoot to document their growing family. I love the fact that I am freezing a moment in time for families and I take that privilege and responsibility seriously.
